Boodlum are back

The Boodlum Band

Queens Park Arts Centre’s Limelight Theatre is welcoming back the ever-popular Boodlum Band to the venue in March for a rip-roaring performance of music and wacky comedy designed to entertain and amuse.

From foot-tapping washboard songs like ‘Never Swat A Fly’ to rock anthem ‘Wishing Well’, The Boodlum Band (pictured) will be taking a helter-skelter ride with an eclectic set list – there will be some old ones, some new ones, possibly some loved ones, but mainly neglected ones.

The band only have to walk onto the stage and the audience starts laughing – their irreverent mix of music and fun will aim to blow away those winter blues.

Each of the band members are soloists in their own right, but it’s when they play together that the fun really starts, as they unite to form the self-styled ‘Britain’s Oldest Boy Band’.

Ian English is a master of all things piano and voice, and occasionally picks up the guitar when Trevor gets cramp. Dave Reece scrapes a mean washboard and adds that vocal je ne sais quoi. Adrian Broadway plays just about anything he can hold, including the phonofiddle, watering can, swanee whistle and occasionally even the bass. Trevor Toms plays the guitar (when cramp allows) and ukulele and banjo (when no-one is listening).

If you like music with a capital ‘M’ and fun with a capital ‘PH’, then the Boodlum Band are the band for you.
