Students are gearing up to discover a career they will love at this year’s Bucks Skills Show on Saturday 14th October at The Gateway, Aylesbury, from 9.30am to 3pm.

John Hammond and Sara Thornton (pictured), familiar faces on BBC Weather who have now set up their new ‘weather trending’ blogging business, will be two of the many inspirational guest speakers talking about their career journeys – sharing top tips to help young people explore their options and work out how to get there.

The meteorologists and entrepreneurs, who are realising the huge appetite that people have for jargon-free, relevant weather information to help inform their lifestyle choices, said: “We’re forecasting bright futures for all students who are motivated to attend the Bucks Skills Show on 14th October. A fine day is expected, with a diverse range of local and international employers on hand to answer questions and give advice. Give young people you know a clear start to discovering their careers and bring them along.”

Organised by Buckinghamshire Skills Hub, part of Buckinghamshire Thames Valley Local Enterprise Partnership, the county’s largest skills and careers event is an interactive experience offering plenty of activities to get students involved. It’s an opportunity to meet face-to-face employers from a range of sectors, including GlaxoSmithKline, the NHS, Thames Valley Police, Sky, Heathrow, John Lewis, Volkswagen, the Royal Marines, Champneys, Tesco, McAfee, Oracle and Aldi.

All young people over 14, their parents and carers and teachers are invited to attend the free event.
