Tring Carnival

Tring Carnival 2018 – four days of fun fundraising for the local community – is just around the corner. Running from June 21-24, the four-day event has plenty for all the family.

Here are the highlights:

Thurs 21st June Tring Cinema presents Sing-a-long Grease the Musical:

Are you a Pink Lady or a T-Bird? Get your costume ready and your singing voice lubricated to enjoy this evening at the Carnival Marquee.  Tring Brewery is holding a beer festival and there are bubbles as well.  Doors open 7pm. Food will be available from an American Diner. Film begins 8.45pm.  Tickets are £10 and can be bought online at www.tringcinema.com or from Beechwood Fine Foods in Frogmore Street, Tring or £12 on the door.

Friday 22nd June – The Pepper Foundation presents The Dung Beatles:

The Dung Beatles are performing in the Carnival Marquee.  “The Dung Beatles are pure unadulterated fun,” says Terry Bloxham of The British Beatles Fan Club.

This is an event not to be missed if you love all things Beatles, plus Tring Brewery beer festival. Doors open 7pm. Tickets £17 on the door or £15 in advance from Tring Brewery, Beechwood Fine Foods or online at www.pepper.org.uk

The Pepper Foundation raises funds to support the work of The Rennie Grove Children’s Hospice at Home service.

Saturday 23rd June is Carnival Day, 12noon- 5pm:

This year’s theme is “Tring beside the Sea” so expect all things seaside. The Acrochaps performing seaside-themed acrobatics, Bubbleologist – a bubble making mermaid act, brass band, candy floss and ice cream, crazy golf along with an annual dog show, dancing groups, fairground rides, German Shepherd agility display, food and drink stalls, plus Tring Brewery’s beer tent.

Check out the Tring Together stall with its seaside picture postcard photo opportunity, or enter a seaside-themed fancy dress competition.

Parade:

The parade starts from Bishop Wood School field at 11.30am, with a procession of local schools in seaside themes, organisations and vintage cars through the High Street, making their way to Pound Meadow.

Pound Meadow will be bursting with stalls selling all kinds of food, drink and gifts, fun rides, arena events, dog show and the themed Tring beside the Sea fancy dress competition.

Saturday 23rd June – Rennie Grove presents Beer and Band Night:

Come and join in a fun night of local beer, music and dancing, all in the name of raising money to provide end of life care for children and adults. The entertainment is being provided by the Swinging Retros, a covers band featuring all genres of music, guaranteed to make you get up and dance. Doors open at 7pm, evening starts at 7.30pm. Tickets are £10 (£12.50 on the door) from Tring Brewery, Beechwood Fine Foods or from 01442 820720.

Sunday 24th June, Tring Carnival presents RAF Halton Voluntary Band and the Castle Choir in aid of SSAFA:

There is a great programme of music lined up for you which will end in true Proms style with ‘Fantasia on British Sea Songs’ and ‘Pomp & Circumstance March No.1’. Bar opens at 12noon, music starts at 3pm. Entry is free with a retiring collection for SSAFA; the armed forces charity supporting military families.

This afternoon is the final afternoon of the Tring Brewery beer festival and it is hoped people will come and join a rousing finale to the 2018 Carnival, all in aid of a great charity.

RAF Halton Service SSAFA provides both financial and emotion support to serving personnel and their families, within the local community, as well as providing individual grants to welfare projects.  Every penny raised will remain at RAF Halton and help support the work that they do.
