A lesson in careers

An event is taking place this month, aiming to attract more teachers to the profession.

Teach in Bucks Recruitment Fair is a must for anyone thinking about a new career in teaching. Teaching can be a rewarding and fulfilling career, offering individuals a unique opportunity to inspire future generations, take on new challenges and share their interest in learning.

Taking place at the Buckinghamshire New University Aylesbury Campus on Saturday 18 November from 11am-3pm, the free information event is open to anyone who wants to find out more.

The event is being run by Buckinghamshire Council in co-operation with a range of education and training organisations. It runs from 11am to 3pm and will feature a variety of presentations covering everything from the different routes into teaching; information about teaching primary and secondary levels; and also practical detail about the application process and the funding and bursaries available.

Representatives from a range of organisations will be on hand to answer questions and provide information.

Former teacher Anita Cranmer, the council’s cabinet member for children’s services and education, said: ‘Great teachers come from all backgrounds, including newly qualified graduates, those who’ve gained experience in other careers and those already working in a school or education environment.

‘So whatever your stage in life, if you are feeling inspired to teach or are simply curious to find out a bit more, take this opportunity and come along to our recruitment fair.’

To register a free place in advance, visit the council website. Walk-ins will also be accepted on the day.
