Another award for Princes Centre

The Princes Centre at Princes Risborough centre has won another award for being ‘The Community Project of the Year’. The centre had already been awarded the ‘Dignity in Care’ award – for the second time – earlier this year and a recent client satisfaction survey revealed that visitors appreciate the staff and activities.

At the AGM, visitors viewed the new windows and were warmed by the new boiler. They were told about the successful trading activity and generous donations which had enabled these projects to be completed.

A special trophy in remembrance of the late Peter Robinson BEM, who contributed much to the establishment of the Princes Centre, was awarded to John Keyte, a local musician who has given  his time supporting the Jinglers choir and entertaining the clients, either by himself, or with his Black Dog Band.

More funds are needed to replace the roof over the lower hall and undertake some internal alterations. Replacement of the ageing bus may have to precede this. More will be known in February.

Volunteers from the Nationwide Building Society spent a day cementing gaps in paving slabs, replacing and re-felting the roof of the external smoking shelter and painting all the outside railings.
