TrustonTap have been announced as winners at the National Impact Awards 2021 in recognition of the impact the innovative digital platform has on people’s lives.
It connects experienced carers directly with older people and their families to support them to live independently at home, avoiding the need for using a traditional care agency.
Judges at the awards were impressed by the way TrustonTap utilised technology to improve the wellbeing of clients and carers.
The agency was founded six years ago in Oxford to help families find the right carers for their loved ones. Since then, the business has grown significantly across Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire and has recently launched in Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire.
Founder William Cotton (pictured) learned from both personal and professional experience the importance of care for older people and aims to improve the care quality for people seeking help.
While searching for the right carers for his own relatives, William found how demoralised many carers were – forced into zero-hour, low pay contracts and yet doing such an important job. And so, the idea of TrustonTap was born.
Mr Cotton said: ‘I know from my own experience trying to find care for elderly relatives, how difficult it can be, especially when you don’t live close to your parents.
‘The challenge was to find a way to make it easy for families to find experienced carers in their local area, whilst bringing down the cost and still ensuring that carers are paid well.’
TrustonTap helps families to find experienced professional carers tailored to their loved ones’ individual needs, enabling them to maintain independence and continue living at home.
