Businesses stand firm

The team at Buckinghamshire Business First is working with firms, Buckinghamshire Local Enterprise Partnership and Buckinghamshire Council to identify need, unite available support and put in place the measures to help stabilise the business community.

One of the positive and proactive activities it established immediately was to identify need and help match this with the right kind of support.

Can you provide support?
If you are able to offer support to other businesses, i.e. legal, financial, operational or consultancy support, fill out this form with details of what you can offer and Business First will post it to its offers page and make its Business Support Team and wider network aware of it. View the bbf.uk.com/offers page to see what others are offering.

Can your business divert staff, machinery or facilities to support local or national need?
Business First has had some ‘great outcomes’ so far, in addition to the overwhelming support from the business community, as the entrepreneurial spirit of Buckinghamshire businesses has shone through. Just some of the examples it has helped facilitate include:

  • A global catering company based in Buckinghamshire diverting activities away from conferences and events to providing meals for NHS workers;
  • A local manufacturer diverting activities to help fulfil essential government equipment requirements for ventilators;
  • Local distilleries switching production to sanitiser to fulfil unrivalled demand;
  • A local care home with an urgent requirement for facemasks was connected to a local supplier able to deliver.

Business First says: ‘We have the connections and team in place to help make a real difference, so if we can help join the dots between a national need and a local opportunity – let us help. If you can divert resources of any kind to support a need, fill out this quick online form with details of what you can offer and we will post it to our offers page.’

Are you a business that needs help?
If you have a specific need for an item or service, make a request using our Q&A tool.

Details of how to access the government-announced support is starting to become much clearer and the Business First team is keeping the information up-to-date on its bbf.uk.com/covid-19 web page.
