Crowdfunding cracks on
One year from launch, Our Vale, Aylesbury Vale’s crowdfunding platform, has seen success with a number of community projects beating fundraising targets.
To celebrate these achievements and to encourage more people to get involved, the district council and Spacehive are hosting a free, interactive workshop at Aylesbury Waterside Theatre on Thursday July 18, between 2.30pm and 4.30pm.
The workshop will explore how the initiative works and provide useful tips on how to get a community project idea ready for crowdfunding. It will also be an opportunity to hear about the successful projects, find out how to apply for the £350,000-plus of funding available through the platform, as well as network with like-minded people who want to transform shared spaces, interest visitors and enhance Aylesbury Vale.
Register here to attend the Our Vale Workshop.
Councillor Howard Mordue, Cabinet Member for Finance and Resources, said: ‘It’s fantastic to see that already with Our Vale, four local projects have benefited by funds raised through crowdfunding. This is a very exciting time as more and more community projects are registering to crowdfund on the Our Vale platform and the perfect time to ask yourself, could your project be next?
‘The next application deadline for funding is September 30, so come along to the workshop and see how your project idea could be a reality.’
