A council has pledged £12,250 to help support three local community projects which are crowdfunding on Our Vale. They are ‘The Next Step Youth Homeless Project’ by Youth Concern; ‘New Play Equipment for Dagnall Rec’ by Dagnall Village Hall; and ‘Paralympic Heritage Learning Tools’ by the National Paralympic Heritage Trust.

Aylesbury Vale District Council launched its £50,000 Our Vale fund to help support and fund local community projects in the area. The fund is designed to enable residents to play a greater role in shaping their communities; further the council’s objectives to make places better; meet community needs; and encourage community support and involvement.

Vicky Hope-Walker, Project Manager from National Paralympic Heritage Trust, said: ‘AVDC’s pledge to our project has really enabled us to get the ball rolling. It’s great to see the local district council’s commitment to supporting and contributing to a wide range of community projects.’

Trish Owen, from Dagnall Village Hall, said: ‘The crowdfunding support through Our Vale has been fantastic. With support from the local community and AVDC’s pledge we’ve now reached our target.’

Maryvonne Hassall, Assistant Director – Digital Delivery, AVDC, added: ‘The first round of funding allocations from AVDC’s Our Vale fund has been a great success, helping to push some fantastic local community projects closer to their target. Our Vale is an innovative and inclusive way to help projects get off the ground and enhance our local communities.’
