The Great St. Trinians Treasure Hunt @ Chinnor & Princes Risborough Railway

In association with Chiltern Heritage Festival, It’s 1966 and London’s arch criminal mastermind, Alphonse Askett has sent his gang to rob the train of its two and a half million quid. Alas for them their van broke down during the getaway. They were forced to stash the loot in a secret hideaway until the heat dies down and then they made their way to Chinnor hoping to jump a train back to London.
As Detectives you’ve been called in to solve the case. Using the twelve clues you’ll be given can you unscramble the name of where the cash is hidden ? But look out, those pesky St. Trinians Girls are on the case and may try to mislead you. Do you trust them ? Oh, and did we mention two of the gang, Bertie “Brains” Bishop and Gelignite Jeffries have been spotted in the area – they may be on the station or even on the train. If you see them challenge them for the secret password. When you’ve answered all the questions on your Crime Sheet hand it in at the shop. Three lucky winners will be drawn at random a couple of days later and each will receive a pair of tickets to join us on board for a superb Ploughmans Lunch in our Dining Car. Good hunting. CHINNOR departures are 09.30, 11.00, 12.15, 13.35, 15.00 & 16.30, PRINCES RISBOROUGH departures are 10.15, 11.35, 12.50, 14.10, 15.30, 17.05. There is a large free car park, cafe and souvenir shop available at Chinnor station. For more information about the railway and other activities please see our website. We very much look forward to seeing you on our The Great St. Trinians Treasure Hunt and thank you for your support.

Wear any Hat & GO HALF-PRICE @ Chinnor & Princes Risborough Railway

The Titfer, as you may know, is Cockney rhyming slang for a HAT. So let’s all have some fun and put a smile on our fellow travellers’ faces (maybe even a grin too!) and wear a gorgeous, eccentric, or just plain simple, HAT! Wearing a Hat gets you the half price rate*, if not you will have to pay the full fare. Early October is generally a good time to visit the railway as there are plenty of seats available to spread out and enjoy the journey. En route you might spot some of our local wildlife such as Muntjac deer, pheasants and hares; and it is rather rare not to see any of our ubiquitous Red Kites whirling overhead. CHINNOR departures are 09.30, 11.00, 12.15, 13.35, 15.00 & 16.30, PRINCES RISBOROUGH departures are 10.15, 11.35, 12.50, 14.10, 15.30, 17.05. You could also make it extra special and book delicious cream teas which are served in the Afternoon Tea Car on the 16.30 departure from Chinnor. Advance booking for cream tea reservations can be ordered separately online. There is a large free car park, cafe and souvenir shop available at Chinnor station. For more information about the railway and other activities please see our website. We very much look forward to seeing you on our Wear any Hat & GO HALF-PRICE trains and thank you for your support.
