Running over three consecutive Thursday afternoons, this course will introduce you to beginner drawing techniques- looking at equipment, how to show depth through shading and perspective, and how to draw through identifying shape, form and texture.

This workshop is aimed at beginners to drawing, and art in general, and those looking to improve their drawing skill.

Students should bring a selection of pencils (H, HB, 2B, 4B, 6B), an A4 sketch pad, a rubber, a pencil charpener and a ruler.

Places must be booked in advance; suitable for adults and students aged 14+.

Two-day course: 8 Feb (1:30pm-4:30pm) & 9 Feb (10:00am-1:00pm)
NOTE: Different start and finish times on each day, please check before booking.
Tutor: Fi Chappelle

The course will be over 2 days. On the first day, after a 15-20 minute demonstration, you will be on the potter’s wheel throwing a couple of mug bases with the support of tutor Fi.

These cylinders will then be left overnight to dry out enough so they are ready to be turned (the process of carving excess clay off of the base).

You will then pull handles which will be attached onto your pot, making a mug! If you would like to be creative with the design of your mug then please bring some inspiration along with you.

Suitable for beginners.
