Aylesbury Vale District Council is offering free Christmas parking in town centre car parks in Aylesbury, Buckingham and Wendover on selected days in November and December.
Council car parks in Aylesbury and Wendover will be free after 3.30pm on the following Thursdays: 28 November, 5 December, 12 December and 19 December. This will allow visitors to take advantage of the many bars and restaurants in the towns, as well as the late-night shopping in Aylesbury – that takes place the first three Thursdays in December.
In addition, Walton Street car park in Aylesbury will be free all day on the following Sundays: 1 December, 8 December, 15 December and 22 December. This includes the day of Buckinghamshire’s biggest free Christmas Craft & Gift Fair – which takes place in Market Square on Sunday 1 December between 11am to 3pm.
For residents and visitors unfamiliar with Walton Street car park, this is the largest council car park in the town, with 525 available spaces. Conveniently located for the heart of the town centre, it can be found opposite Bucks New University (Aylesbury Campus). The car park offers a pleasant and scenic stroll to shops and restaurants, with the walkway passing by the canal and the Waterside Theatre.
In Buckingham, Cornwalls Meadow car park will be free all day on Saturday 14 December to benefit the popular Christmas parade happening on that day.
The council’s Parking Services Manager Naomi Batson, said: ‘I’m delighted that we’re able to offer selected free parking in Aylesbury, Buckingham and Wendover over the festive period.
‘Visitors to Aylesbury can take advantage of the free parking during the Thursday late-night openings to do some, or all, of their Christmas shopping. And in Buckingham, I’m sure the free parking will help ensure the Christmas parade is a friendly and fun day for all the family.’
