The fundraising Kop Hill Climb is to make initial donations to six charities from the £14,639 raised to date by its “every pound is precious” appeal.
The charities are Scannappeal, Rennie Grove, Lindengate, Guild of Parents Princes Risborough School, Bucks Search and Rescue and Thames Valley Air Ambulance.
The appeal will continue while social distancing applies. Donations can still be made to the Climb’s website (www.kophillclimb.org.uk) or its Facebook page.
The annual event at Princes Risborough was cancelled this year because of Covid-19 but the vast majority of entrants donated their entry fees to the appeal.
Another way in which people can help to fundraise is to but a copy of the Climb’s commemorative magazine, published last year to mark the tenth anniversary of the event’s revival.
With 68 full colour pages and nearly 100 images, it reviews the story of the climb since its origin in 1910. It is priced at £5 plus post and packing.
Visit the website above, select “shop” at the right of the top tool bar and follow instructions. All money from its sale go directly to the appeal.
The committee is already planning for the 2021 event, which will mark the 110th anniversary of the first climb in 1910.
