Jamming on Junk

New percussion is class open to all

Junk Jamz Collective is a brand-new percussion class for adults, bringing people together to make music using everyday objects including buckets and bins. The idea has been a long-time ambition of Lewis, the creator and founder of Junk Jamz Collective, dating back to when he performed in the 2012 Olympics Opening Ceremony. That incredible experience sparked the idea of creating something that would give other people the chance to discover the energy, excitement and sheer fun of percussion.

Junk Jamz Collective percussion classes are open to adults of all abilities — whether you have years of musical experience or have never picked up a drumstick before, everyone is welcome. Each class involves playing along to a variety of different genres of music, turning buckets and bins into percussion instruments and creating powerful and rhythmic energy together. The emphasis is on having fun, meeting new people and enjoying making music as a group.

Classes currently take place on Wednesday evenings at Sir Henry Floyd School in Aylesbury, with more classes planned for surrounding areas in the near future. Everyone is welcome to book a free taster class, when you can have a go and experience Junk Jamz Collective for yourself before committing to anything.

It isn’t just about the classes, there is the option to perform at local events too. Junk Jamz Collective performed recently at the Chilli Festival at Waddesdon Manor and have other events planned for this year and next.

If you have ever fancied trying something completely different, getting creative, meeting new people and making a lot of noise along the way, why not get in touch and try Junk Jamz Collective?
