Parklife: What's on

More details have been released on the programme for Parklife Weekend, set to return this August Bank Holiday weekend in Aylesbury.

From 12 noon on Saturday 28 August two stages in Vale Park will host local bands and artists at Live in the Park for more than nine hours hours of continuous music.

Bands and artists performing include Soul Enforcement Bureau, Tunehead, Rockin’ Wild, BlueJay, Armada of Secrets, Princes to Kings, Fret Heads, The White Lakes, Empyre, Saloni, Peerless Pirates and Amir.

Local super band NBS will be entertaining the crowd as headliners with a plethora of cover tracks – from modern and classic rock, pop, pop punk, soul, to out and out 80s cheese.

New to Live in the Park for 2021 is the Kids’ Entertainment Tent. There will be six hours of non-stop family fun, from balloon modelling competitions with DJ Dan Blaze, a princess singalong with MJ Productions, Professor Diamond’s Punch and Judy Show plus an interactive Fairies vs Dragons Gameshow with Enchanted Players Theatre Company.

The Community Involvement Area brings together the best of the community with plenty of stalls. Local bars and catering stalls will be on hand for people’s food and drink needs, too.

Stars in the Park will be hosted by astronomy experts, UK Astronomy on Saturday evening. Starting at 10.15pm, Parklife-goers are invited to join the team for a tour of the night sky with amazing telescopes and equipment.

Sunday 29 August starts with an all-inclusive open-air service and celebration, Church in the Park, hosted by The Aylesbury Church Network. This runs from 10.30am-12 noon on the main stage in Vale Park.

Parklife Weekend culminates with Proms in the Park. People are being invited to bring picnics, rugs, flags and your finest singing voice for this great British tradition, with Aylesbury Concert Band, soloist and some surprise guests.

A spectacular firework display will finish the entire weekend at 9:30pm on Sunday 29 August.

The weekend is brought to residents by Aylesbury Town Council and supported by a number of charities and organisations.
