Running total for centre
Andy Williamson, sales negotiator at Michael Anthony Estate Agents in Aylesbury, has presented a cheque for more than £2,500 to Chilterns MS Centre after running the London Marathon.
At the ceremony, Andy and senior partner for the company Mike Donnachie met patients and the team to present the cheque. Andy’s target was £2,000 and he ran the marathon is 3 hours and 58 mins.
Andy undertook many months of training – in all weathers – so he could successfully complete the punishing London Marathon route. In his spare time, he had to fit in his training, and he did this whenever he could. Weekends, holiday and days off were all used to help his training. By day, Andy works at the Aylesbury branch.
He said: ‘The marathon was hard work, but ultimately, fantastically rewarding. It’s brilliant to support such an outstanding local cause that makes such a difference to the many patients who visit the centre every day.’
Mr Donnachie added: “We all got behind him with many fundraising initiatives, and we cheered him every step of the way. What a life achievement. The Chilterns MS Centre does an amazing job and we’re proud to support them again this year.’
The centre in Wendover helps people living with multiple sclerosis (MS) to reach their goals. The centres offer a number of life changing and supportive therapies and treatments including physiotherapy, occupational therapy and oxygen treatment. It also offers emotional care and a social community, not only to people living with MS, but their carers and families. The centre relies on the support of the local community to continue to offer its services free to those affected by MS.
