Soapboxes rev up

Do you have what it takes to create a gravity-powered kart?

Aylesbury Town Council’s family-friendly event returns to Whitehill Park in Aylesbury this Father’s Day on Sunday 19 June.

Competitors will complete three timed runs in gravity-powered karts down a 95-metre tarmac path.

This event is a team-building activity and hands-on challenge for friends, family or work colleagues. Creative, imaginative and bright designs are encouraged.

Trophies and medals will be awarded to winners and second and third place teams for the following three categories: Junior (driver aged 15 and under), Senior (driver 16 years and over) and best-looking kart which is voted by public on race day.

There will be free entertaining activities on the day for spectators, including music with DJ Dan Blaze.

Interested soapbox participants should register before Friday 29 May and places are granted on a first-come, first-served basis. There is no cost to register, participate or spectate.
