Square deals at boot sale
Plans are in place for Aylesbury Market’s first car boot sale.
Market Square (pictured) has been in existence since it was decreed a Charter Market by Mary Queen of Scots back in 1554 and over the centuries has seen many varied uses such as an agricultural market, specialising in cattle. It has hosted continental, food and vegan markets.
The car boot sale will take place on Saturday 7 August from 9am to 2pm, with a maximum of 10 cars at £15 a pitch. Spaces are limited and will be on a first-come, first-served basis via bookings only. The sale is for private cars only.

Gareth Williams, Cabinet Member for Planning and Regeneration at Buckinghamshire Council, said: ‘I’m excited to see the plans in place for Aylesbury Market’s first-ever car boot sale. Whether you want to sell some of your unwanted items, or you fancy picking up a bargain or two, be sure to come along to Market Square.’
It is estimated that 9,000 people pass through the square in a day.
