Try, try and try again as Chinnor hit heights

Chinnor Rugby Club have hit the big time, after being crowned National One Champions.

The team, who play in Thame, are now promoted to the Championship after beating fifth-placed Birmingham Moseley 52-0. Chinnor produced a superb season-long effort, with 21 wins out of 25 games and still with a match in hand.

Chinnor are now the top rated rugby club in Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire and Wiltshire.

Hundreds of supporters made their way up the M40 to cheer them on and those who could not make the trip were able to listen to the match live on BBC Radio Oxford.

Promotion to the Championship was secured with Chinnor nine points ahead of nearest rivals Reading Rams.

The RFU presented Chinnor with the National One Champions Cup amidst huge celebrations on the pitch.

Celebrations continued at the club in Thame late into the night after the players were welcomed back to rapturous applause.
