Bucks Culture's popular Open Weekend(s) returns this August with an exciting programme of arts, heritage and cultural events taking place across Buckinghamshire, perfect for the summer holidays. 

Running over three long weekends – 14–16, 21–23 and 28–30 August 2026 – the countywide initiative invites residents and visitors to explore the wealth of creativity on their doorstep through exhibitions, performances, workshops, open studios, heritage experiences and family-friendly activities. 

Organised by Bucks Culture, Open Weekend(s) brings together museums, galleries, libraries, artists, community organisations and cultural venues from across the county, encouraging people to discover new places, support local creatives and experience Buckinghamshire's vibrant cultural scene. 

Now in its fifth year, the event has become a highlight of the county's cultural calendar, offering hundreds of opportunities for people of all ages to get involved. Whether it's trying a creative workshop, exploring a historic venue, enjoying live music or discovering a hidden local gem, there's something for everyone. 

This year's theme, Roots, Rhythms & Rituals, celebrates the stories, traditions and shared experiences that connect communities across Buckinghamshire, showcasing the people and places that make the county unique.

The full programme is now available to browse online, making it easy to search for events by location, date or activity. With many events free to attend and others requiring advance booking, visitors are encouraged to plan ahead and discover something new this summer.
