Buckinghamshire Council is marking Neurodiversity Celebration Week (17-23 March 2025) by promoting the support available for local families of children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). The Council’s SEND Local Offer connects families to a wealth of resources, including the Autism Toolbox and the Autism Early Support (AES) Portal. These tools offer practical guidance and support to help families and carers of children and young people with SEND, including those with neurodiverse conditions. It is estimated that 1 in 7 people in the UK are neurodivergent and with 11.4% of school-age children in Buckinghamshire receiving SEN support, the demand for guidance and resources continues to grow. The SEND Local Offer provides clear, accessible information on education, health, social care, and financial support, with dedicated tools for neurodivergent children, including the Autism Toolbox and the AES Portal.
